Handwritten and typescript notebooks containing poems, stories, notes on dreams, diary entries and other occasional writings, some illustrated with drawings; unbound manuscripts of poems; drawings; galley proofs and an annotated copy of Dawn Visions; drawings and printed plates for This Body of Black Light; material relating to Floating Lotus Magic Opera Company, including notebooks with manuscripts of Moore's librettos, sketches for sets and costumes, notes, poems, etc.; photographs taken during performances; clippings of reviews and articles about the company.

Daniel Abdal-Hayy Moore, born in 1940 in Oakland, California, had his first book of poems, Dawn Visions, published by Lawrence Ferlinghetti of City Lights Books, San Francisco, in 1964, and the second in 1972, Burnt Heart/Ode to the War Dead. He created and directed The Floating Lotus Magic Opera Company, a poetic sacred folk theater group, in Berkeley, California in the late 1960s, and presented two major productions, The Walls Are Running Blood, and Bliss Apocalypse. He died April 18, 2016 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
